Description

We are pleased to welcome Ella Dunn's artwork into University House.

Part of Ella's Artist Statement:

"Predominantly working with oil on canvas, she explores the world of the ‘everyday’, paying homage to the ‘everyday’ man, the mundane experiences and connections of time, place and characters. Over the past few years she has exhibited in the Sutton Project Space, Melbourne City library, Margaret Lawrence Gallery and VCA Student Gallery."

Part of Ella's Bio:

"Ella Dunn was born in Sydney in 1994 and spent her formative years growing up on a property on the Mid North Coast of NSW. In 2014 she moved to Melbourne to commence her studies at V.C.A."

"I want the ‘ordinary’ celebrated, and to be felt through my layered paintings. The eye drawn to the beauty in the mundane. Depicting a timeless moment, an experience or a story, shown through both gestural brush strokes, abstracted objects and exaggerated perspectives. The figures that appear in my paintings are an integral part, depicting the ‘everyman’ and beauty in the ordinary. They are there to mimetically trigger thinking about our own daily encounters."
